They had no signs posted pointing you in the right direction (where the elf zone is, Hickman lounge, the train ride, and the ice lounge are all places that were not labeled and had no signage on how to reach them)We attempted to go into the mansion on several different occasions but they were at capacity every time also. We also had a hard time navigating where certain activities were. If you’ve got younger children you know that’s too late yo start a movie.

They have character meet & greets and then play a movie at 9pm.
The only activities on our fri& sat night stay didn’t start until later in the evening around 7pm. They have a ton of options listed on the website, but things such as ornament, and wreath making are on nights different nights Monday-Thursday. However activities for families are severely lacking. They do an excellent job of decorating inside the resort I will give them that. Upon arrival and check on you definitely get that warm Christmas feeling. Upon reviewing the resort it appeared that there would be plenty of activities to keep my 10 & 2 year old busy during the day, prior to the Festival of Lights in the evening. However that would not stop us from going again. The way it was written was just misleading. The way it was written in the information led us to believe there would be, as there was in the past. The only real complaint was they had no live entertainment at night. There were a few glitches regarding opening time for the zoo and shops on Thanksgiving and the staff did not seem to have any idea about the change in times but everyone was very pleasant and helpful. After using the trolley this time I do not think I would ever drive the route again. Well worth the $12 pp since neither of had to drive and not be able to enjoy the lights and the driver talked about the history of the show and the lights as we drove along. We paid to view the light display using their trolley. They Thanksgiving Buffet was outstanding, way too many choices but very expensive. The server was wonderful and the food, they only serve salads and sandwiches and so on in the grill, was very good. We ate the first night in the Glassworks Grill. The carpet was showing it's wear but all else was fine. This year we decided to do it over Thanksgiving to enjoy their Thanksgiving Buffet as part of our stay. My wife and I have visited Oglebay twice before for the light show.
